Vocal training of foreign students: Artistic and pedagogical approaches and practices
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to prove a special approach in the vocal training of foreign students, in particular Chinese, based on the analysis of various pedagogical methods. The novelty of the study lies in the comprehension of the problem of training foreign students and the peculiarities of vocal and pedagogical methods that are necessary to achieve this goal. The research methodology is based on the use of systematic-historical and comparative methods, which are used to analyse the traditions of the development of Italian and Ukrainian vocal schools and their most prominent representatives. Conclusions. Based on the analysis of various pedagogical methods, it was possible to prove a special approach in the vocal training of foreign students, in particular Chinese students. The study analysed the concept of the "Ukrainian vocal school" in its historical development, highlighted the names of the most prominent teachers who formed a whole galaxy of outstanding Ukrainian singers, of whom the country is proud and who have gained wide fame outside Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about such teachers as Oleksandr Myshuga, Olena Muravyova, and Valentyna Antoniuk. Various educational and pedagogical methods inherent in the European and Ukrainian vocal schools are analysed. The article highlights the national features that distinguish the Ukrainian school of singing. These include solo singing of Ukrainian folklore singing and the centuries-old tradition of choral singing. The following main components of adaptation of foreign students to the specifics of studying in Ukraine are outlined. Attention is focused on the ability to identify the relationship between the quality of singing sound and sound production technique
